• Whole Beans – perfect if you are grinding your own beans at home or in a cafe/restaurant.
• Plunger – perfect for plungers, dripolaters, etc, but NOT espresso machines.
• Espresso – perfect for home-style espresso machines and stove top espressos (macchinetta) and can ALSO be used in any other method listed for Plunger.

Next, decide what percentage of caffeine you want in your coffee?

• Our B99 blend has your normal dose of caffeine for an espresso blend.
• Our B70 blend is by far the most popular style with 70 per cent of the normal dose of caffeine in an espresso blend (in other words, 30 per cent less than usual – you won’t even miss it).
• Our B30 blend has just 30 per cent the caffeine found in espresso blends (in other words, 70 per cent less than usual).
• Our B01 blend has just 1 per cent the caffeine found in espresso blends making it our very own “decaf” (there is a trace of caffeine because the Swiss Water Method is not aggressive like the chemical method other producers sometimes use to decaffeinate coffee – you can drink ours with confidence).
• Our Fairtrade Espresso Blend has your normal dose of caffeine and hence it is at the bottom of this page because this page is more focussed on lowering your caffeine intake.

B70

Choose the B70 Benchmark Blend if you want all the body and flavour of a full espresso blend AND you also want to reduce your caffeine intake a little. This has to be our most popular style probably because you don’t even know you are reducing your caffeine. All you experience is rich, gutsy espresso. Ahhhh, I can smell that aroma right now!

B30

As you progress along our caffeine reduction pathway, you will find you want to linger at our B30 Benchmark Blend because you know you are still getting about 30 per cent of the caffeine of a standard espresso blend while also knowing you are enjoying the extra roast of our full flavour blend. If anything, it might be too easy to drink!

B01

Here you have the perfect blend for when you must eradicate caffeine from your diet but you really have a passion for great espresso coffee. There is no compromise in this blend. You enjoy top shelf beans that have gone through the Swiss Water Method to remove all but the tiniest traces of caffeine without any of the nasty chemicals associated with decafs!

B99

You are not really meant to buy this one. The B99 Benchmark Blend is our full strength, unthrottled blend when it comes to caffeine content. It has been blended for those who feel immortal! Here’s a challenge: If you think the reduced caffeine blends are not for you, buy one bag of B99 and one of B70 and do a blind taste test. You’ll end up drinking B70 and enjoying the best of both worlds before no time!
